It is kind of interesting, in retrospect, that discussions split in such a binary way that way. At least with the therian community, I'd put it down to (at least when I joined) a very strong focus on instinct. So everyone is talking about those instincts, and why we have those instincts.
But did other communities have that sort of focus? I am less sure of this, but at least in the modern day they seem to have ended up with our dichotomy.
